Val di Sole

All 3 men in the top 10 of first snowy cross

A spectacular setting welcomed the riders of Tormans Cyclo Cross Team in Val di Sole, lining up this Sunday for a new round of the World Cup. Quinten Hermans, Kévin Kuhn and Corné Van Kessel faced a snowy track for the first time this season.

An epic race developed as the usual mountain-bike track became incredibly slippery, and despite a start far from ideal Quinten Hermans managed to claw his way to the front of the race in the fight for podium. A crash in the final two laps eventually thwarted his hopes to end in the top 3, however the Belgian gave his all until the very end to grab 5th place.

On the other hand, Swiss champion Kévin Kuhn enjoyed a superb start in the snow, alongside teammate Corné Van Kessel. With a final seventh place, Kuhn delivered his best result ever on a World Cup event in the Elites category. A solid Van Kessel ensured all three men of Tormans CX competing retuned from Italy inside the top 10.

In the overall World Cup classification, Quinten Hermans sits in fourth place with 196 points, while Corné Van Kessel climbed to a provisional sixth position after nine rounds.
