This Saturday, the fourth race of the Superprestige was on the menu in Merksplas in the province of Antwerp. Quinten Hermans, contender for the final victory in the Superprestige, lined up alongside Swiss champion Kevin Kuhn, Corné Van Kessel and Emiel Verstrynge.
As it is now his habit, Hermans was author of the fastest start, followed by his teammates van Kessel and Verstrynge. Quinten Hermans set the pace and after the third lap five riders managed to distance the rest of the field. An exciting battle took place in the second race half with many position switches in the top 5.
After ten laps, Hermans was only defeated by Iserbyt. It was his eighth podium of the season, the fourth Superprestige podium in four races. Corné Van Kessel finished 6th, Emiel Verstrynge took 12th place and Kevin Kuhn became 20th. Thanks to his performance, Hermans climbs again to 2nd place in the provisional classification of the Superprestige.
Quinten Hermans was not the only rider of Tormans Cyclo Cross Team on the podium this Saturday, as Shana Maes also finished 2nd in the cyclocross race in Boortmeerbeek after an effort of 41 minutes.
This Sunday, almost the complete team will be in Koksijde. Zoe Bäckstedt, Marie Schreiber, Quinten Hermans, Kevin Kuhn, Théo Thomas and Corné Van Kessel have been selected to participate in the Elite category. Emiel Verstrynge and Joran Wyseure will line up in the U23 category.
